LA CITTA' SI APRE ALL'ARTE; ARTE COME BENE CONDIVISO
From 10 to 12 October 2025, Verona once again becomes the capital of modern and contemporary art with the twentieth edition of ArtVerona. This year’s fair expands beyond the exhibition halls to embrace the entire city: historic palaces, civic museums, and public spaces will host exhibitions, installations, performances, and sound interventions, turning Verona into an open-air gallery where art merges with daily life.
Promoted by Veronafiere in collaboration with the Municipality of Verona, ArtVerona confirms its role as more than a marketplace for art — it is a cultural platform that engages citizens and visitors alike. The most significant innovation of this edition is the extraordinary opening of several architectural landmarks: Palazzo Forti, reopening to the public after years of restoration, the Achille Forti Gallery of Modern Art, the Museo Lapidario Maffeiano, the Museum of Natural History, the Rondella delle Boccare, and the former industrial complex of Santa Marta – Silos di Levante.
“We want contemporary art to become a shared good, capable of transforming urban spaces and enhancing the quality of life,”
said Marta Ugolini, Councillor for Culture, underlining the city’s commitment to making Verona’s most iconic sites accessible.
Councillor for Events Alessia Rotta added: “This partnership with Veronafiere strengthens the natural bond between the city and its exhibitions, offering not just an art event but an opportunity to rediscover Verona’s architectural treasures.”
The 2025 program, curated by Laura Lamonea with Leonardo Regano, Patrizia Nuzzo, Marta Cereda, Thomas Ba, and Jessica Bianchera, weaves together diverse languages and disciplines. At Palazzo Forti, The Then About As Until explores the dialogue between words and images through video art, while Apeiron. Without Borders reinterprets key works from the GAM collection in a new display. At the Museo Lapidario Maffeiano, Axis Mundi by Raffaello Galiotto creates a striking dialogue between ancient stone artifacts and contemporary sculpture, and at the Rondella delle Boccare, the participatory project Autogeografie invites students to reflect on the relationship between body and urban landscape.
A rich calendar of events invites the public to experience contemporary creativity in new ways and reinforces Verona’s identity as a European cultural hub, where art, architecture, and community converge. All initiatives hosted in municipal spaces are free of charge.
